A daily helper bill is a salary receipt that an employer issues to a domestic worker — a maid, cook, driver, gardener, nanny, plumber, or other household staff — confirming that wages have been paid for a specific month. Our free daily helper bill generator creates a clean, signed-and-stamped-ready receipt in under thirty seconds, which you can download as a PDF and use for office reimbursement, household records, or as proof of payment for both parties.
Unlike handwritten chits that get lost or misplaced, a digital helper salary receipt is consistent, professional, and easy to file. Whether you are managing your monthly household budget, helping your helper apply for a loan, or claiming reimbursement from your employer for a work-related domestic worker, this tool gives you a print-ready format trusted across Indian HR departments.
A daily helper bill — sometimes called a domestic helper salary receipt, maid salary slip, or household helper bill — is a written acknowledgement that documents the wage transaction between an employer and a domestic worker. It records who paid whom, how much, for what period, and through which payment method. In Indian households, this receipt sits at the intersection of three uses: it is proof of payment for the employer, proof of income for the helper, and supporting documentation for any reimbursement or tax purpose.
Indian law does not impose a fixed format for domestic worker salary receipts. What matters is that the receipt clearly identifies both parties, states the amount and the period, and is signed by the recipient. For cash payments above Rs. 5,000, the Indian Stamp Act requires a revenue stamp affixed to the receipt. Our generator handles all of this for you with a clean template — just fill in the details and download.
Salaried employees who hire a personal assistant, driver, or household helper for work-related duties can claim the cost from their employer, but the HR team needs a signed receipt to process the claim.
Maintain a clean, organized record of every payment to your maid, cook, driver, or gardener — useful for budgeting and for resolving any future payment disputes.
Banks and NBFCs often ask domestic workers applying for personal loans, gold loans, or two-wheeler loans for proof of monthly income. A signed salary receipt from the employer serves this purpose.
Self-employed professionals and certain salaried individuals may need to document expenses for domestic staff used in connection with their profession or business. A dated, signed bill is the supporting evidence.
When a helper leaves your service, a final salary receipt provides a clean closure on the financial relationship and protects both parties from future claims.
If you have been giving handwritten receipts and want to switch to a consistent digital format, this generator produces the same legally acceptable evidence in a professional layout.
A receipt that omits any of these fields can be rejected by HR teams or contested in a payment dispute. Our generator pre-fills the standard layout so nothing is missed.

Re. 1 revenue stamp affixed and signed across, required for cash payments above Rs. 5,000 under the Indian Stamp Act.
The Indian Stamp Act requires a Re. 1 revenue stamp on any cash receipt for an amount exceeding Rs. 5,000. The recipient must sign across the stamp. This rule applies to receipts for domestic worker salaries paid in cash. The purpose of the stamp is to give the receipt evidentiary weight in a court of law if a dispute later arises.
The revenue stamp requirement does not apply when payment is made by bank transfer, UPI, NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, cheque, or a digital wallet such as Paytm or PhonePe. In those cases, the digital transaction record itself is sufficient legal evidence of payment, and the receipt is supplementary documentation. Many employers and helpers prefer digital transfers for exactly this reason — the paperwork is simpler.
If you do pay in cash and need to affix a revenue stamp, stamps are widely available at any post office or stationery store across India for Re. 1 each. Stick the stamp on the receipt and have the helper sign across it so that part of the signature lands on the stamp itself.

A daily helper bill is a private acknowledgement of payment between an employer and a domestic worker. It is treated as valid evidence of payment when both parties sign it and, where required, a revenue stamp is affixed. It is widely accepted by HR teams for office reimbursement claims and by individuals for personal record keeping.
Under the Indian Stamp Act, cash receipts above Rs. 5,000 require a Re. 1 revenue stamp signed by the recipient. If the salary is paid by bank transfer, UPI, cheque, or digital wallet, a revenue stamp is not required because the bank record itself serves as proof of payment.
If the helper is in your personal household employment, issuing a salary slip is not mandatory under Indian law. However, providing a written salary receipt is strongly recommended because it protects both employer and worker, helps with loan applications, and serves as proof for tax deductions or reimbursement claims.
Yes. Many salaried employees claim reimbursement when they hire a helper to assist with work-related duties such as a personal assistant, a driver for client meetings, or domestic support during travel. The generated PDF is suitable for HR submission. Always verify the exact format your employer accepts before submission.
A complete bill should include the helper's full name and role, the employer's name and address, the salary amount in figures and words, the month or period covered, payment mode, the date of payment, and signatures of both parties. A revenue stamp is required for cash payments above Rs. 5,000.
Yes. You can generate a separate receipt for each month and download them all as PDFs. For accurate record keeping, individual monthly receipts are preferred over consolidated annual receipts because they match the actual payment dates.
